| Salu Digby is the real name of Shrinking Violet, a member of the
Legion of Super-Heroes.
Salu comes from the planet Imsk, whose inhabitants have the
ability to shrink in size to the sub-atomic level. Salu was
born on Earth, so her ability was unique among her peers and she
applied to the Legion for membership.
Shrinking Violet was for a time romantically involved with
Colossal Boy, but later began seeing Duplicate Boy of the
Heroes of Lallor. Violet was kidnapped by Imskian rebels and
held in a sensory-deprivation tank for months, while her place
was taken by a Durlan actress named Yera. Yera believed that
she was just taking Violet's place while she was on vacation and
had no knowledge that she was involved in criminal activities.
While in Violet's place, Yera and Colossal Boy fell in love. Element
Lad exposed Yera as an imposter and the Legion rescued Violet from
the rebels.
Since her return to the Legion, Salu has become a more hardened person
than her previous shy personality. She has completed a second round of the Legion
combat training, to prevent such an incident from happening again. |
