| Of course, by cleverly defining capitalism, we can avoid having to say nasty things about it. Ignoring the fact that even a trotskite would claim that "communism hasn't failed, because it hasn't been tried yet", the basic claims in this writeup are related to any coercive ideology, irregardless of its being left wing, right wing (e.g. the military regimes in Argentina and Chile), fundamentalist (e.g. Afghanistan or Iran), or whatever. Any of the American militias, or at least those too whacky for the taste of the speaker, can safely be pronounced non-capitalist (even though they preach for very extreme forms of private ownership, and against public ownership).
To top it all, add a healthy sprinkling of the label "liberal". Please note: liberal used to be right wing, but today is a centrist party. They're not trots, not internationalists, not marxists, not socialists, not even anarchists (though that's close in certain, limited, ways). See the book or the movie Russia House (John le Carré) for further explanation of this common americanism.
