Shields UP! probes the ports of Windows systems in order to determine possible security risks. One of them is the "TCP/IP File and Printer Sharing" service, which allows anyone to browse a Windows user's harddisk over the net and is installed and open on many Windows default installations. Shields UP! is written by Steve Gibson and can be found at <http://grc.com>.
