| Controversial treatment for reprogramming the sex drive of sex offenders, "problem teens", and, voluntarily, self-hating homosexuals; considered by its many critics to be a form of torture and abuse.
Kinda like something out of A Clockwork Orange: the patient is shown pornography while a penile or vaginal plethismagraph attached to a computer measures the patient's sexual arousal. In the later stages of treatment, the patient is punished for becoming "inappropriately" aroused at the sight of the same images through exposure to smelling salts, ammonia odors, or electric shocks. In another form of therapy, the patient writes out or records a sexual fantasy "script" that is repeatedly replayed while he/she is taking some form of punishment.
