My interpretation of the seasons by events which occur during these periods in the year:

WINTER
The icy pane melts
as we toast some smokey bread
in front of the fire.

SPRING
The poor lambs shudder
the blowing winds never cease
in filtered sunlight.

SUMMER
The roasted pavement
evaporates the water
trickling from the hose.

AUTUMN/FALL
Leaves fall softly down
but an acorn falls so hard
and hits my head - ow!
