For the past few days, I've been casually wondering why I often fail to recall specific advertisements from various ad-driven web sites. Surfing during lunch, today, the light bulb flickered as I went to shut down another annoying pop-up window advertisement.
My entire focus, during those few seconds, was the little 'x' in the upper-right corner of the window. That 'x' is likely to be my sole recollection of countless interactions with the fruit of well-spent internet advertising dollars.
I wonder if at some point I'll find myself waking in a cold sweat from anxiety-ridden nightmares, in which I'm unable to find that little 'x' on the shelves of my local supermarket. Time will unravel all mysteries.
