A
tetrisoid puzzle game by
Capcom. Connect together blocks of the same
colour and
detonate them using
trigger blocks. If this sounds familiar, it's because
Capcom later took the basic
game mechanics and added some
Street Fighter gloss, calling the game
Super Puzzle Fighter 2. The original is quite addictive, if not quite as frenetic as Puzzle Fighter. The graphics are quite polished, but the game seems so minimalistic compared to their big titles of the time that it must've been some kind of
quota filler. Or possibly a response to the other
puzzle games that were becoming popular in
arcades at the time.
