This writeup is one branch of what once was an "Islands Metanode".

some overlap with the list of Southern Ocean Islands.
It's very difficult to tell where the Pacific Ocean leaves off on its
western edge, and I made some arbitrary choices. Thus, Australia and Indonesia
can be found under Oceania.
