Orbitally-rearranged monatomic elements

Observed as a white powder comprised of a group of elements in a monatomic state. An entrepenuer named John Hudson discovered these elements while trying to recover gold and silver from Arizona mining trailings. While recovering the gold and silver by "heap leach cyanide recovery", another substance kept being recovered with the gold and silver. This material alloyed with the gold and silver to make a brittle material, something never before seen.

Hudson calls them "ORMEs" for "orbitally-rearranged monatomic elements." This is a new form (phase) of matter with entirely different physical properties from normal elements. What was most suprising to Hudson is that these ORMEs are natural superconductors, causing standard testing of these materials to be extremely difficult. Conventional chemistry texts have been of little value in explaining ORMEs. To date, Hudson's discoveries have neither been conclusively confirmed nor rebutted by independent investigators.

ORMEs are naturally occurring in certain volcanic soils dating back to a geological event which occurred about 60 million years ago. Such soils are present throughout the western United States. Soils which are considered rich in these elements might contain up to six percent of this material. The remaining 94 percent or more of the material is ordinary dirt comprised mainly of silicon compounds. Initial processing consists of removing the dirt to get the residue. The residue comprises ORMEs or the white powder.

This white powder is thought to have great metaphysical affects on the human body. The alchemist's Philosopher Stone was a white powder of gold. The Philosopher Stone was said to be the container of the light of life, and will cure every disease known to man, plus is capable of changing the nature of man, making him into a different person.

Some have reasoned that the Egyptians perfected the process of distilling ORMEs. The Hebrews learned the process from them, carrying white powder or "manna" in the Arc of the Covenant.

I have a horrible feeling that this is the same crap I came across some years ago while randomly trawling the net for stuff about alchemy. As far as my sieve of a brain can recall, there WAS mention of 'monatomic gold' - but also connected in some way with the red indians, who had nuclear weapons (since forever) and other fanciful stuff. Might I humbly put forward the point that this is all so much bollocks. Orbitals are a description of an electron wavefunction, determined by the number of electrons the element has. 'Rearrangement' of these could mean anything - chemical reaction to nuclear disintigration. 'Monatomic element'?

Really, this sounds suspiciously like another myth-dressed-as-science problem. It may sound like chemistry, but it surely isn't. Superconductors? Wow, how cutting edge. I very much doubt that these imaginary ORMEs are "natural superconductors" (at room temperature probably :) My Philosopher's Stone was a wild goose chase, a universal panacea that turned water to wine, dross to gold and ill people to well people. Naturally the Egyptians got in on the act - convenient that we can't ask them about it. Wouldn't you think that something with great "metaphysical affects[sic]" (it should be effects) would still be used today?
