| Sometimes i would lie in bed and remember the illustration in the Random House encyclopedia of nerve endings, their concentration...how the body was so small, but the lips, the tongue, the palms of the hands were so large - my body would change, my hands were impossibly large. My mouth wouldn't fit in my head, my torso was left behind. I would struggle to move one of my limbs, and the dream-state would be broken. I was left. Small, in the dark, simple. Not feeling anything. |
