| Naveed is Our Lady Peace's debut album, and was released in 1994. Arnold Lanni acted as producer/co-writer, as he continued to do on the band's following three albums. It was released while Chris Eacrett was still the band's bassist (he was replaced with Duncan Coutts, due to "both personal and musical" problems). It has a grungier feel to it than the rest of OLP's albums, which is due to the change of bassists and their natural growth as musicians and song writers after this album. Also, the song Starseed is what helped propel them to the success they have now, not only because it was on the wildly popular Armageddon soundtrack, but because after Robert Plant heard it he instantly wanted Our Lady Peace to support him on his reunion tour with Jimmy Page.
The Birdman, Starseed, Hope, and Naveed were each released as a single and made into a music video. Supersatellite was released as a single, but no video was made. The lyrics to the title song are as follows:
