The NBTVA is a British association largely consisting of
radio and electronics hobbyists who build
cameras and televisors based
on John Logie Baird's 30-line TV standard.
Machines vary from reproductions of
original designs, using mechanical
scanning discs, to modern electronic
or computerised devices.
There is an annual convention, held in Loughborough
in April, and there is a CD available of video made
there, with audio on one channel, and video on the
other - the NBTVA video standard is such that all the video
information fits into an audio signal.
Although Baird's standard was 30-lines, the NBTVA standard
is 32-line for convenience, with an aspect ratio of 3:2 in portrait format.
