Modem on Hold

A primary feature in the V.92 signaling standard. Working in conjunction with call waiting-equiped lines, when call comes in while the modem is connected, the connection is suspended, the circuit is relinquished and the voice call can then be answered. After the voice completion, you can then 'resume' the data connection and continue where you left off.

This feature has been available for some time on (of all things) WebTV.
