The Millenium Explorer is the worlds largest methanol
supertanker
with a
deadweight
of 100,000 tons. It was launched in 1999 and is large enough to carry its own
nitrogen
processing plant. It is owned by Japanese shipping corporation Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd. MOL own 60% of the worlds methanol tankers (by tonnage) as of the Millenium Explorer's launch. The ship carrys
methanol
used in various industrial applications and has a
crew
of around 20. The majority of MOL's crew's are, bizarrely for a Japanese company,
Filipino
.
