I wrote this while mowing the lawn yesterday, watching clouds of little white umbrellas billowing out from under the lawnmower.
Martyrdom, or why mowing a Dandelion is the best thing you can do for him
A man glimpsed a
Dandelion one day, growing
while he was mowing
on his manicured lawn.
Curse thee, Dandelion
he said.
I shall mow thee down
unto the last plant.
But as the sap was bled
the seeds were spread,
floating cotton 'neath the sun.
So sooner still the man would say
The Flowers, they had won.
A man saw a patch of
Dandelions one day, growing
while he was mowing
on his manicured lawn.
