The Mallet Assembly Men's Honors Residence Hall is a self-governing student organization on the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa campus, and more or less represents the highest nerd concentration in the Tuscaloosa area. The Assembly is currently housed in Byrd Hall, a massive edifice of concrete and asbestos that predates Christianity. The program is run sans directors or RA's; students elected from within the Assembly make all decisions with a minimum amount of interference from university administration.
Membership is open to any male UA student who, regardless of race, color, or creed, is either smart or crazy in a really interesting way. The program contains a diverse array of freaks, including those interested in programming, science, the arts, business, and Star Trek.
