A designated weekend where Lindy hoppers from all over the world converge on one city to mix with locals and participate in the local Lindy Hop and Swing dance events. There will be the usual abundance of weekend dance parties as well as live music performances from the local swing and jump blues bands. Often, after hours dance parties are scheduled at local ballrooms and at locals' houses who happen to have hardwood floors.

Lindy Exchange events are designated with the letters LX after the initials of the host city. For example, the Santa Barbara Lindy Exchange becomes known as SBLX. Lindy Exchange T-shirts are seen quite often at dance parties and whenever swingers aren't dressing in hip vintage clothes.
