A large, deep lake in the highlands of south central Guatemala. It is surrounded by dormant volcanos, and apparrently drains into some underground lava tube, because there is no outlet, and the water is fresh. The lake is a popular tourist attraction for tourists from all over the western hemisphere, almost all of whom come through Panajachel, the largest town on its shores.
