Update

The project has its site up, and is continuing to work hard to collect, aggregate and present information. I'm still taking good ideas from noders, and putting them up at the following site:

http://www.katrinahousing.net/index.php

This site is now a publicly available content management system, so if you want you can add items you find directly to that address. It's easier than the wiki, but they have editors who vet stuff before it goes live.

At some point the site will acknowledge the contributions from E2, but right now it seems a little gauche. We're talking with Google, The New York Times and the Red Cross to get info out. Hosting is by The University of Michigan and the Internet2 project.

Keeps ideas coming, and thanks.

Yours truly,
clampe

screw it.

If you're looking for resources in the Houston area, look here:

katrina-houston.com

Small updates on boards and forums weren't getting the info where it needed to be. Locals to Houston were still asking "where can I go to volunteer, the Astrodome is full, who elese needs help", over and over.

I know the area well, so I decided if I couldn't be there, working with my own two hands, I'd network instead, to make it easier on the ones who are able to go in in person.

Katrina-houston.com contains information on volunteering, donating, area shelters, and offering shelter to victims..

Pass it on, pass me word of things I'm not aware of yet... whatever you can. I've done what I can, I need your help to make it more.

Y'know, if you log in, you can write something here, or contact authors directly on the site. Create a New User if you don't already have an account.
