Another of the multitudes of
energy drinks flooding into the market. It's made by the
Delaware Punch Company which, in reality, is a subsidiary of
Coca-Cola. It has the usual mix of
Ginseng,
Guarana, and various B-Complex vitamins.
The drink is marketed toward the "
rave" crowd, and the
Deleware Punch Company is sponsoring the 2001
Caffeine Tour, an
electronic music festival. Many people are saying that "KMX" is an allusion to
ketamin,
meth, and
ecstacy. Certainly something
Coca-Cola wouldn't want to be associated with.
Personal Review:
My personal choice for "energy drinks", merely because it has a taste I can stomach. While most energy drinks go for a
citrus flavor, KMX has something of a bitter cola taste to it. Of course, the trade off is that it's weaker than just about every other energy drink. Oh well, it just means you have to drink a few extra and rot your stomach a bit more. I initially bought KMX because I found the can appealing for some reason. (I am a
victim of design) The can is slim (just like every other energy drink), but it's a very simple design. Silver can, crisp simple
logo, and nice bold lettering. I thought it looked strangely high-tech. It certainly looked more appealing than
Sobe or
180, anyway.
While I was drinking this at work, I would wander
bleary eyed into my co-worker's offices and would do this:
Me: ::jumps through doorway::
Coworker: ::looks up from desk::
Me: K - M - X! What y'all really want?! K - M - X! (waving can around)
Coworker: ::Blank stare::
Me: Never mind.
