As a teenage singer/songwriter, he recorded "Everyone's Gone to the Moon", a must for any mid-60s time capsule. As a producer, he spawned various one-hit wonders, and his UK Records discovered Genesis in 1967 (he also came up with their name) and 10cc in 1970 (he named them "10cc" - it came to him in a dream). His 1971 version of B.J. Thomas' "Hooked on a Feeling" was the blueprint for the classic 70s version by Blue Swede.
