Each spring, a Hopkinsite yearns to emerge from the depths of the library, feel the gentle cool breeze, and watch some class mates beat the crud out of some thugs with big sticks.
in order to enhance this vernal rite, the band exists. Founded by Conrad Gebelein in 1921, it is devoted to the principle "We want more!"
In 1996, the band surreptitiously removed the basket from a restaurant in New Jersey. In the intervening four years, the restaurant has been unable to provide its signature speciality, "chicken in the basket".
The JHU Band is the best band in college lacrosse. It is the only band in college lacrosse.
