Jessye Norman is an internationally recognized opera diva. Her rich and expressive soprano can range from the E above high C to the E below middle C. She has performed French, German, Italian compostions in addition to Negro spirituals and obscure theather pieces.
After studying music at Howard University, she won the International Music Competition in Munich, Germany in 1968.
