| Jaime Cardinal Sin, Archbishop of Manila. Cardinal Sin has been the Archbishop of Manila for as long as I can remember. Despite his name, the good Cardinal is a saintly man, though many would accuse him of meddling too much in politics. Cardinal Sin played a crucial role in the 1986 People Power revolution. He was the man who called the populace to gather in great numbers to protect a group of soldiers in a failed coup. (See People Power for more details). More recently, though old and ailing, he has called for the resignation of president Joseph Estrada. (again, see people power). |
