A techno/jazz hybrid project masterminded by the amazing Carl Craig. The other members are Francisco Mora, formerly of Sun Ra's Arkestra; Craig Taborn; and Rodney Whitaker.
Their first recording was Bug in the Bassbin on Planet E Communications in 1992, although that was Craig by himself. This track re-appeared remixed in 1996 on the same label, and on the group's 1999 Astralwerks/Talkin' Loud full-length, Programmed. People Make the World Go Round was also released as a single in 2000.
Although Innerzone Orchestra has not been heard from since that last single, a group called "Francisco Mora's Outerzone Band" performed at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001. |
