UltraStar is IBM's line of server-class hard drives. Although larger drives exist for less money, UltraStars still command a premium price for offering things like insanely high RPMs (15,000 on the high end) and Fibre Channel and Ultra 320 SCSI interfaces. The UltraStar line begins with model XP DFHC-C4, a 540 Meg SSA 5400 RPM drive; it's current peak (as on September 2001) is the 73LZX 73 Gigabyte drive available in either Ultra 160 SCSI and Ultra 320 SCSI and Fibre Channel. The consumer level complements to this line are the DeskStar and TravelStar lines.
