| A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of hiking the area around Kokanee Glacier. While parking in the rest area below Kokanee Glacier, I noticed chicken wire surrounding many vehicles that were parked. Apparently, porcupines enjoy chewing rubber. I have also heard that porcupines enjoy chewing brake lines as well.
Therefore, I highly advise bringing chicken wire if you intend on overnight camping in an area habitated by porcupines or you might find a nice surprise the next morning. |
