| I learned this trick from my dad, who taught it to me for, oddly enough, the purpose of impressing women. I am not making this up.
For an example of the principle behind this trick, you will need a butterknife, a dime, and a hard flat surface. Place the dime on the flat surface, then push the blade of the butterknife down on the dime. Pull the butterknife back while applying steady downforce.
Notice how the coin flips up, and onto the tip of the knife?
Good. Now we're going to do the same thing, but with a forklift. Place the dime on a flat, preferably concrete, surface. Get in the forklift. Align it so that one of the forks is directly above the dime, then lower them until steady pressure is being applied to it. Slowly roll the forklift backwards. If you do it right, the coin will flip up and back onto the fork. You may want to practice a few times before you go out and get an audience.
For extra style points, call "heads" or "tails" as the coin flips. You only have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, but it looks wicked cool if you do.
