| Go to the security, or whomever holds sway over the box, and ask for something common and innocuous, say, a "black hat with a brim" or "a kind of gray sweater". They may inspect the box themselves, or will allow you to scan the contents yourself. If you see anything that appeals, mark it in your brainpad. Leave, defeated that you could not find your precious "pair of white shoes", and return the next shift, or the next day, when the guard has changed. "Hello, I lost my (really interesting, good piece of clothing) a couple of days ago; I'm just wondering if it has turned up. Um, it had a golden button on the... yep, that's it!" |
