Also the name given by the Romans to Ireland. If I remember correctly, it means "Winter Land", which is an unusual way to describe our climate, given that we rarely have snow or really cold weather. "Rain Land", of course, would have been fair.

Hibernia is also the name of an offshore oil rig off the coast of Newfoundland. It stands 224 meters high and produces on average 150 000 barrels of oil per day. It started producing oil in 1997.
