Cathedral city in Herefordshire, England, on the river Wye. A small quiet place, Saxon in origin, in beautiful countryside near the Welsh border. It's probably most famous for the cattle Webster 1913 mentions and for the cathedral, which contains a medieval chained library and the Mappa Mundi, a map of the world drawn in about 1300 by monks from details in a fifth-century Latin manuscript.
If you're visiting, the Green Dragon Hotel is a good place to stay. Beware the moon: they filmed American Werewolf in London near here.
