| Havergal College was founded in 1894 by Anglicans who felt the need for Toronto to accomodate an all-girls education for Lower Anglicans in the community. The original building was located on Jarvis Street in downtown Toronto. The school is named after Frances Ridley Havergal, a woman of strong faith who serves as an excellent role model for women.
Presently located at the southwest corner of Lawrence Ave. and Avenue Road, the campus consists of 22 acres of land, including a ravine, creek and woodland area, surrounded by a cozy residential neighbourhood and local cafes and restaurants.
One of the top private girls schools in Canada, Havergal prides itself on its excellent academic standards and rigorous athletic and arts programs.
