A bridge linking Boston with Cambridge. It leads to MIT. The story is that when the city was building the bridge it asked MIT if they wanted to name it. They said it would fall, and declined to name it. So Harvard eagerly named it. It did collapse, and was rebuilt, retaining the Harvard name, and that's why Harvard Bridge leads to MIT. Oh, it's measured in smoots.

The story I've heard is that Harvard and MIT had an essay contest to decide who would get the name. Hahviid wrote an essay about how the bridge was beautiful and they should get the name. MIT examined it and saw its structural flaws and wrote that they didn't want the name and Hahviid should get the name.

The bridge carries Mass Ave over the Charles River and is often called the Mass Ave Bridge.

There have been several proposals over the years to rename it the Technology Bridge.
