Awards honouring all aspects1 of English-language television production in Canada. Given out annually each year since 1986 by The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, which also awards the corresponding Prix Gémeaux for Canadian French-language television, and the Genie Awards for Canadian cinema2.
According to the Academy3, the Geminis are a 'national television showcase' designed to build "... television audiences and public awareness, as well as an appreciation of Canadian production and talent."
The Gemini award itself is an attractive brass award featuring two stylized human profiles. It was created by artist Scott Thornley.
