| The full title of the novel by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. Also, my most ambitious noding project to date. Interestingly enough, the novel bears little resemblance to the movie Frankenstein. Shelley's monster is surprisingly articulate and urbane, and Victor Frankenstein, his creator (who is not a doctor) at times seems naive and aristocratically foolish. Many scholars believe Shelley was influenced by Milton's Paradise Lost, and the Biblical themes in what is often hailed as the first work of modern Science Fiction are striking.
