Hates seeing any machine in pain--even those who don't know it, like a broken street lamp or an overheated car. Compassionate, cautious--will restrict an Autobot to repair bay for faulty directional signal. Carries dual-barreled decrystallizer cannon--weakens metal by disrupting crystalline structure--and photon pistol. Fists shoot laser beams used for welding in surgery. With fellow Protectobots, combines to form "Defensor".

Transformers Tech Specs
The Autobots still had a doctor in Ratchet, who also transformed into an ambulance, but that didn't stop them from adding one more to the Protectobot lineup. (Although, come to think of it, the toy Ratchet was so ugly that First Aid could almost be considered an upgrade.) He transformed just like any other minibot, but that put him miles ahead of his teammates in the good-looks department. His pacifist nature put him center stage in the TV episode "The Ultimate Weapon".
