| strange how predictably all of my attempts to sit down and watch pornography end with me fast asleep, waking to find naught but a blue screen and an unfinished beer. so i have a theory, because, having discussed this with a few people and discovering that their experience is similar, i feel it is clearly a subject that needs some addressing. and it's a very simple theory. when you begin watching porn (when you start the video, not your first time ever), it's very novel. unless one is a porn connoisseur, the average day presents few opportunities to see two or more surgically enhanced strangers going at it after no real provocation. but as the movie wears on, one's attention wanders and it's still mildly amusing to watch people screwing, but one starts to find other things to do, getting up to use the bathroom without pausing the video, stepping outside for cigarettes.. finally, you're lulled to sleep by the noises of human nature, the warm glow of the television, the comfort of a couch or easy chair. and that's that. |
