Fallacies of Explanation

A class of logical fallacies in which the explanation of a phenomenon doesn't actually explain anything significant. A good explanation answers the question "Why?", based on a body of evidence. If the explanation doesn't answer the question, or isn't based on solid evidence, a fallacy has been committed.
