(b. 1936) Actor best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine in the TV shows Kung Fu and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. In the latter show, he played the father of Peter, a policeman, and went around
solving crimes, defeating criminals, and (in later episodes) acting mystical. Although Caine is supposed to be a half-Chinese Shaolin monk, Carradine is actually 100% white.
It is. Unfortunate...that he. Also holds the...Mistaken. Belief. that...misplaced pauses and...choppy speech...will make him sound Asian. or...wise.
In this respect he seems to be a member of the William Shatner school of acting (although Shatner, of course, wasn't trying to sound Asian).
