Cooper's test

Cooper's test is developed by Dr. Kenneth Cooper for the purposes of the US army. It's probably one of the most well-known (and the hated ones as well..) tests to measure your fitness.

The objective of the test is to run continuously as far as you can in 12 minutes. The distance is measured and the result passes the judgment.
3000 meters is consider to be a good result. To run more than 3500m you need to do regular training but if you hardly reach 2000m maybe you should consider to start doing some exercise.

You can also approximate your VO2 Max level with the aid of Cooper's test. The formula is as follows:

(Distance covered in meters - 504.9) / 44.73 = VO2 Max
Of course the cheap and simple test like this favours runners and on the other hand disfavours those who are heavily built with big muscles and all. The Cooper's test should be considered to measure the condition of circulation organism but there are other types of fitnesses as well that should be counted..

I made 3860m some 3 years ago; should be better now..
