| The second book in Lea Hernandez's Cathedral series, Clockwork Angels is more of the same.
More of that supernatural stuff, that spooky atmosphere, that amazing sensibility for what transcends "cute" to become "deliciously romantic". Clockwork Angel reminds me why I read comics. "Scientific Romance" is what Warren Ellis (arist of Transmetropolitan) calls it in the foreword, and that's a good way to describe it.
Yum.
On the other hand, if you don't like vagueness (I myself have a hard time wrapping my head around Hernandez's plots) and implication over explanation, Clockwork Angels, like its predecessor, are more likely to annoy you than entertain you. |
