This node is dedicated to the short story and to those interested in reading light prose.

I'm reasonably certain the ones listed below are in the public domain. If you have noded, would like to node one of these or have found a classic short story you would like added here, please, don't be shy about /msging me in this regard as I would be happy to add your favorites to the list.

In the past it would be a delight to read them to my fifth grade students after lunch because it seems that fewer and fewer had time to enjoy short stories today. They did indeed experience the joy that reading such fine work can give. The goal is to give a nice cross section of short stories in the hope that these short stories will excite redicovering an excellent source of entertainment.
