The doctrine, common in American fundamentalist Christian groups, that in order to bring about the Second Coming, Christians must take control of the government and establish a Christian nation, or theocracy, in America.

Contrary to republican democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the Constitution.

One of their leading lights, Rousas John Rushdoony, (usually R. J. Rushdoony), has asserted that any civil law not proceeding from the Bible is "an anti-Christian religion" (theonomy, dominionism):
