One-time owner of the
NFL's
Baltimore Colts; in the summer of
1972 he
swapped his franchise for the Los Angeles Rams of Robert Irsay. Irsay later gained infamy for his sudden abandonment of Baltimore for
Indianapolis. Rosenbloom himself moved the Rams from the
Los Angeles Coliseum (1932's
Olympic Stadium) to
Anaheim in 1979; he died in a
drowning accident the same year. His widow, now known as Georgia Frontiere, eventually moved the team to
St. Louis.
