Also to modify a Mac OS application so that it uses the Carbon API, allowing it to run under Mac OS X (while still running under OS 8.6 and 9.x with the use of the CarbonLib library). Some people used to say carbonize, but that means "to burn" and it's much nicer to say you're going to make your app fizzy. :)
