| 1930s pulp hero. A former criminal himself, Caray Adair waged an unceasing war against crime in the guise of the seemingly superhuman Captain Satan, along with his reformed gangster pals Doc, Happy, Frenchie, Soapy, Big Bill, and Gentlemen Dan. Captain Satan took the Robin Hood route by turning the ill-gotten profits of the mob bosses he defeated over to the poor. His calling card was a devil figure projected onto the wall over his pummeled victims by a flashlight with the symbol taped over the lens.
Sounds a bit expensive to me. Flashlights don't grow on trees, y'know. Maybe he was trying to lord it over more budget-conscious crimefighters like the Green Hornet and the Spider, who used ink. |
