| An excellent semi-soft (soft but not spreadable) German cheese with a smooth texture. It has a yellow color and is made from cows milk. There are small holes throughout. It has a smokey taste and is creamy with a fat content of 45%. Wheels of Bruder Basil are aged for one month. It is terrific on crackers (Carr's Water Wrackers are my fave, but it's fab even on Triscuits), sandwiches, or grilled. Serve with a red wine. |
