Bruce Dickinson was born on August 7, 1958 in Worksop, Nothinghamshire, UK. He's the lead singer for Iron Maiden, but has released several solo albums in the last decade.
After going through several bands, Bruce joined Samson in 1979, and recorded two albums with them. He got the nickname Air Raid Siren during that period, because he has an incredible voice. In 1981 he was asked by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris and their manager Rod Smallwood to come audition for them, because they were looking for a new singer. He got the job, and recorded seven studio albums and 3 live albums with them, before leaving in 1993. He recorded a few solo albums, including two with former Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith, and in 1999 they both returned to Iron Maiden, with whom they released another album in 2000.
In 2000 he was a guest on Ayreon's Universal Migrator Part 2: Flight Of The Migrator, on which he did the vocals for the song Into The Black Hole, and he sang together with Rob Halford on The One You Love To Hate, from Halford's album Resurrection.
