A patent filed by British Rail* in 1970 and amended in 1972 describes plans for an atomic powered flying saucer. The fusion reaction was to have powered electromagnets to create the propulsive effects. Since the patent has now lapsed, anyone can build one, but beware - modern experts report that the radiation would barbifry you long before you arrived at your destination.
