Boss Screen

created by Mischa

(thing) by Mischa (4.8 y) (print)   ?   (I like it!) Wed Apr 26 2000 at 17:23:50

In the Good Old Days, implemented as an actual feature of games and other entertainment software. The Boss Screen would be activated with a single keystroke or hotkey to display an authoritative-looking diagnostic utility or error message.

Games would allow you to quickly (for a 80206 processor) switch between blasting aliens and the Boss Screen, so save your hide while you goof off at work. Today, wrok is hidden by minimizing browsers and leaving 'legitimate' work visible.
